Skokie Park District
Mergler is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Exploritorium, ensuring that all services are delivered effectively to customers. She plans, implements, and evaluates daily programming, special events, birthday parties, and assigned summer camps. Mergler also plays a key role in hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling staff while ensuring that the Exploritorium operates according to cleanliness, safety, and service standards. She manages the reservation system for birthday parties, schedules group visits, and maintains inventory. Mergler also collaborates with the Oakton Center supervisory staff for special events and supports both staff and patrons with any questions or concerns.
During her free time, Mergler enjoys rowing, camping, hiking, and spending time with her family and dog, Cookie.
Her all-time favorite team? Her kids' hockey squad--she never misses a chance to cheer them on!

The Skokie Park District takes pride in its ability to serve the more than 63,000 residents of Skokie, Illinois and its customers throughout Chicagoland. Whether protecting natural resources, preserving historical sites or providing thousands of unique recreational opportunities within its more than 240 acres of parkland, the district has offered a multitude of quality programs since 1928. In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”
