Cassie Schaeffer

In the School-Age Program Coordinator role at the Emily Oaks Nature Center, Schaeffer supports the Center Manager with daily operations and programming. They develop and lead school, youth group, and children's activities while managing Earth Adventures summer camps and extended care programs. Schaeffer coordinates seasonal special events, contributes to family programming, adult classes, and birthday parties. They oversee program materials, and volunteer activities, ensuring earth education principles and the Nature Center’s mission are being practiced.

Outside of work, Schaeffer loves hiking, kayaking, and camping to stay connected with nature. A lesser-known fact about her is that she once performed improv and sketch comedy in Chicago. She can’t imagine life without music—it’s always playing in the background. As a sports fan, Schaeffer cheers for the Chicago Red Stars and the USWNT. Her favorite music artist is the talented Brandi Carlile.
