Skokie Park District
As the School-Age Program Coordinator, Schaeffer supports the Center Manager with daily operations and program development. She leads school and youth group visits, children's activities, and assigned summer camps. In addition, Schaeffer coordinates seasonal special events, volunteer opportunities, family and adult programs, and birthday parties. At the heart of her work is a commitment to upholding earth education principles and advancing the mission of the Nature Center.
Outside of work, Schaeffer enjoys hiking, kayaking, and camping as a way to stay connected to nature. A fun and lesser-known fact about her is that she once performed improv and sketch comedy in Chicago. She can’t imagine life without music and her favorite music artist is Brandi Carlile. She also proudly supports her favorite teams, the Chicago Red Stars and the USWNT.
