Karen Taira

As the Program Coordinator at the Nature Center, Taira supports the Nature Center Manager with daily operations and programming. She develops and leads diverse activities, including family events, campfires, birthday parties, and classes for all age groups, ensuring alignment with the Nature Center’s mission and earth education principles. Taira coordinates summer camps, special events, and youth programs while supervising part-time staff and volunteers. Additionally, Taira organizes and maintains program materials, adheres to environmental policies, and provides customer service.

In her spare moments, Taira finds joy in hiking and bird watching, embracing the beauty of nature. Her deep passion for plants shines through in everything she does, and she couldn’t imagine life without her beloved books.
