Hurwitz is responsible for administering, developing, coordinating, implementing, promoting, and evaluating the District’s after-school clubs, enrichment programs, and school-age recreation services. She manages programs for local school districts, including teen and school-age classes, school day off programs, and summer camps. Hurwitz oversees the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of staff, including enrichment instructors, program leaders, and special event staff. She ensures that programs meet the needs of local schools and families, creates and implements new programs, and develops contractual agreements with Skokie school district program sites. Hurwitz collaborates with other facility staff to manage scheduling, promote programs, and develops budgets for various programs while closely monitoring expenses. Additionally, she maintains inventories, purchases supplies, and assists with district-wide special events.
