Skokie Park District
Howd, an Early Childhood Teacher at the Tot Learning Center, plays a vital role in the development and care of children ranging from six weeks to five years old. Emma develops and executes dynamic lesson plans to support the children’s growth in all developmental areas. She maintains a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment, ensuring the needs of the children are met while fostering a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere. Emma actively engages with parents through daily communication, conferences, and developmental screenings.

The Skokie Park District takes pride in its ability to serve the more than 63,000 residents of Skokie, Illinois and its customers throughout Chicagoland. Whether protecting natural resources, preserving historical sites or providing thousands of unique recreational opportunities within its more than 240 acres of parkland, the district has offered a multitude of quality programs since 1928. In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”
