As the Accounts Payable Clerk, Sonia plays a crucial role in managing the park district's financial operations. She is responsible for processing all vendor invoices, bills, and payments with accuracy and efficiency. Sonia diligently seeks the necessary approvals for each invoice and payment, ensuring compliance with district policies. She maintains an organized system to track unpaid invoices and keeps meticulous records of paid invoices and related documents. Additionally, Sonia generates payment reports and other financial summaries, providing valuable insights that help support the district's overall financial health.
Outside of work, Sonia enjoys a variety of hobbies that reflect her creative spirit. She loves making crafts, particularly during the holidays, transforming her ideas into festive decorations. A surprising fact about her is her passion for anime, which adds a unique dimension to her interests. Music is another essential part of her life; she couldn’t imagine her days without it. Sonia has a particular fondness for the sounds of the 1970s, especially salsa and Motown, which often inspire her creativity and bring joy to her everyday activities.

The Skokie Park District takes pride in its ability to serve the more than 63,000 residents of Skokie, Illinois and its customers throughout Chicagoland. Whether protecting natural resources, preserving historical sites or providing thousands of unique recreational opportunities within its more than 240 acres of parkland, the district has offered a multitude of quality programs since 1928. In addition to its diverse array of programs and special events, the Skokie Park District also offers summer camps, state-licensed full-day childcare and preschool, and before- and after-school care for grades K-5. The district is a past winner of the “National Gold Medal for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management.”
