Matt Watson has a diverse work experience in the broadcasting and technology industry. Matt started their career in 1980 as a Technical Assistant at Video Workshop. Matt then worked as a Video Engineer at Video Images from 1985 to 1988. In 1989, they joined Sky Television as a Broadcast Engineer and remained in this role until 1993. From 1994 to 1996, they served as the Company Director at DVE ltd. Matt returned to Sky Television in 1997 and held various positions including Senior Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, and Technology Operations Manager. In 2013, they became the Head of Broadcast Technology, responsible for managing the staff and resources and ensuring efficient delivery of new broadcast products and services. Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated expertise in technology, engineering, and management roles.
Matt Watson attended Kelston Boys High School from 1973 to 1979. Matt then went on to study at Auckland University of Technology from 1980 to 1983, where they earned a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering with a focus on Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
