Garrett Duncan, Ph.D. has extensive experience in the energy and construction industries. Garrett began their career in 1998 as a Wilderness Ranger for the Bureau of Land Management, where they were responsible for maintenance and construction improvements to various sites. Garrett then moved to the Bureau of Land Management in 1999, where they worked as a Maintenance Worker and Recreation Planner/Social Scientist. In 2002, they joined ENTRIX, Inc. as a Project Scientist, and in 2004, they became the Owner and CEO of Sierra West Masonry, Inc. In 2013, they joined Construction Innovations LLC as a Solar Construction Project Manager. In 2015, they became the Director of Operations at Integrated Comfort Incorporated, and in 2020, they were hired as a Senior Project Manager - Utility Projects at Solar Construction Company. Most recently, in 2021, they accepted a role as Senior Director of Projects at SkyCool Systems Inc., a company that uses the sky to improve the efficiency of cooling and refrigeration systems.
Garrett Duncan, Ph.D. has a long and varied educational history. Garrett obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - Ph.D. in Geography - Ecology from the University of California, Davis. Prior to that, they obtained their M.S. in Natural Resources Science from Humboldt State University and their B.A. in Environmental Studies - Ecology from California State University - East Bay. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including OSHA 30 from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in 2014, Principles of Lean Office from CACTSD- Centers For Applied Competitive Technologies in 2014, Basics of Photovoltaic (PV) Systems for Grid-Tied Applications from Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 2012, GIS for Resource Managers and Professionals from the University of California, Davis in 2012, and Inspecting Photovoltaic Systems for Grid-tied Compliance from Pacific Gas and Electric Company in 2012.
