Phillip Youngren

Deputy Chief Engineer at Skydweller

Phillip Youngren has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Phillip started their career as an Engineer 2 at Northrop Grumman Corporation in 2005 and worked there until 2008. Phillip then joined the Peace Corps as a Volunteer, where they taught 8th grade math and science in a remote village in Lesotho for a year.

In 2011, Phillip returned to Northrop Grumman and held various positions including GNC/VMS Engineer, Automated Aerial Refueling Integration Lead UCAS-D, Mission Systems Responsible Engineer, Principal Investigator - Position, Navigation and Timing, and Vehicle Management Systems Engineer. Phillip was promoted to Chief Engineer in 2017 and worked in that role until 2019.

Since 2019, Phillip has been working at Skydweller Aero, where they initially served as the Vehicle Management Systems Lead. Phillip has most recently taken on the role of Deputy Chief Engineer, starting in February 2021.

Phillip Youngren completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Loyola Marymount University from 2002 to 2006. Afterward, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Southern California from 2006 to 2008. In 2011, they enrolled at UC San Diego to obtain a certificate in Computer Programming, specifically focusing on C/C++. This program was completed in 2012.
