Russell Josephson has over 15 years of experience in firmware engineering, with a focus on the data storage industry. Their work experience includes positions at various companies such as Skyline Products, Inc., BLUE ORIGIN, Broadcom Inc., DDN Storage, Microchip Technology Inc., Self-Employed, Baxa Corporation, Marvell Semiconductor, Broadcom Corporation, and Cornice, Inc.

At Blue Origin, Russell worked as an Embedded Software Development Engineer and was responsible for enhancing the quality of avionics firmware by using static analysis tools and conforming to MISRA-C and AUTOSAR-C++ standards. Russell also increased automated unit test coverage in telemetry software.

During their time at Broadcom Inc., Russell served as a Principal Firmware Engineer and played a key role in developing firmware for a PCIe-4 / SAS-4 / NVME storage controller, including implementing secure and host-controlled boot.

At DDN Storage, Russell was a Senior Firmware Engineer and was involved in refactoring firmware components for the SFA product to remove obsolete firmware for a new product release.

Russell also worked at Microchip Technology Inc. as a Staff Firmware Design Engineer, where they developed MIPS firmware for PCI Express SAS/SATA RAID controllers.

Before their professional experience at various companies, Russell worked as a Self-Employed Embedded Software Engineer and focused on firmware development for various devices, such as phones, thermostats, televisions, and automobiles.

Throughout their career, Russell has demonstrated strong technical skills and a dedication to peak performance and resource optimization in firmware systems. Russell has experience in areas such as optimizing interrupt codes, creating validation tests, and providing detailed debugging information.

Russell Josephson pursued their education in electronics engineering technology at DeVry Institute of Technology from 1976 to 1979. Russell earned their Bachelor of Electronics Engineering Technology (BEET) degree during their time at the institute.
