Katelyn Johnson

Product Designer | UX Researcher at SkySlope

Katelyn Johnson has a diverse work experience in various roles. Katelyn joined SkySlope in 2020 and currently holds the position of Product Designer and UX Researcher. In this role, they manage usability tests and research initiatives across seven products and regularly presents findings to the VP of Product.

Prior to that, Katelyn worked at General Assembly as a UX/UI Apprentice in 2020. Katelyn completed a 3-week design sprint, redesigning critical documents and enhancing the user experience on the website.

From 2017 to 2020, Katelyn worked at Decathlon USA as the Community and Event Manager and later as the Yoga, Pilates, and Fitness Brand Manager. Katelyn successfully launched grand opening events, managed and executed events and campaigns, and managed teams to increase foot traffic and generate revenue. Katelyn also worked directly with Domyos brand in Europe, conducting market research and presenting findings to headquarters in France.

In 2017, Katelyn worked at EH Shum Financial Solutions as the Client Events and Marketing Coordinator. Katelyn implemented marketing techniques and managed VIP client events.

Katelyn's earlier experience includes working as a Women's Lacrosse Coach at Santa Barbara Girls Lacrosse Association, where they taught lacrosse fundamentals to third-through-sixth graders and planned engaging events. Katelyn also worked at Shave It Inc. as a Crew Lead, providing excellent customer service and managing store operations.

Overall, Katelyn has demonstrated skills in research, UX design, event management, marketing, coaching, and leadership throughout their professional journey.

Katelyn Johnson began their education in 2012 at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, General. Katelyn attended the university for a year before transferring to Santa Barbara City College in 2013. At Santa Barbara City College, they continued their studies in Communication, General and completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in that field in 2015. In the same year, Katelyn enrolled at UC Santa Barbara and pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, General, which they completed in 2016. Katelyn decided to explore another area of interest and attended the University of Melbourne in 2016 to study Marketing and Communication, completing another Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2020, Katelyn attended General Assembly to gain knowledge and skills in the field of UX/UI Design, although information regarding the degree received is not provided.
