Omar is the managing member of Diyala Advisors, LLC, a New York based firm providing advisory services to institutional clients on international financial and corporate transactions. He started his career practicing corporate law before transitioning to investment banking and has 30 years of experience in structuring investments and financings, particularly of large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, across the globe. He brings a broad strategic perspective that also stems from extensive experience as an independent board member of various international companies in sectors ranging from wholesale banking to food and retailing. His experience in nonprofit governance includes having served as a trustee of the International Center of Photography.
Omar is passionate about biodiversity conservation and, among other involvements, currently serves on the Environmental Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association. He holds a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
