Josh Birnbaum

Josh Birnbaum is an experienced aviation professional currently serving as a First Officer Pilot at SkyWest Airlines since August 2023. In addition to piloting, Josh serves as Adjunct Faculty at San Diego Miramar College, teaching private pilot ground school and flight lab courses, while also acting as a Senior Tutor Leader in the Aviation Department. As a Gold Seal Flight Instructor at Let's Make Lift, Josh provides flight and ground instruction for Private and Commercial Pilot Certificates. Previous roles at Apple spanned various positions, including Manager in Learning and Development and Global Recruiting, where Josh focused on team building and employee growth. Early career experiences include roles as a photographer at Cherished Memories Photography and a Hiring/Training Coordinator at Best Buy. Josh holds a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of California, Berkeley, an Associate of Science in Professional Aeronautics from San Diego Miramar College, and a Business Administration degree from San Diego State University, along with being the valedictorian at Elsinore High School.
