Michael J. Devita

Michael J. DeVita, CPA has a diverse range of work experience in construction accounting and project management. Michael J. started their career as a Senior Accountant at Held Kranzler & Company, CPA's, where they worked from June 1995 to May 1998. Michael J. then moved on to FRANK CORIGLIANO CONTRACTOR, INC. as the Director of Finance from May 1998 to August 2001. Following this, they joined Sciame Construction, LLC as a Co-Controller from September 2001 to January 2002.

Michael then transitioned to Archon Group as a Senior Construction Accountant, where they were involved in the finance team for the build-out of a 40-story office tower for Goldman Sachs from January 2002 to March 2004. Michael J. then moved back to Goldman Sachs, where they held multiple roles including Client Implementation Manager, Financial Controls Manager, and Business Unit Administrator. During their tenure from March 2004 to July 2010, they led the Project and Financial Accounting Team for the construction of the New York Headquarters and coordinated budgets and financial forecasts for the Payments and Control business unit globally.

In 2010, Michael joined Silverstein Properties, Inc. as a Cost Control Administrator for World Trade Center Tower 3. Michael J. implemented a cost accounting system, developed management reporting, and established a budget transfer and change order process for accurate reporting of contingency. Michael J. worked with Silverstein Properties until November 2012.

Following this, Michael returned to Goldman Sachs as the Global Project Accounting Co-Head from December 2012 to June 2015. Michael J. led a project accounting team located across the Americas, Europe, and Asia and implemented process improvements that resulted in significant cost savings.

From July 2015 to June 2020, Michael served as the Director of Construction Accounting at WarnerMedia, where they managed accounting, cost control, and reporting matters for the build-out of 30 Hudson Yards.

Currently, Michael is working at SL Green Realty Corp. as the VP Project Controls for One Madison. This project aims to transform One Madison Avenue into a modern workplace overlooking Madison Square Park.

Michael J. DeVita, CPA obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island - College of Business in 1995. Michael J. is also a Certified Public Accountant certified by the New York State Education Department.
