Garry Smith

Garry Smith is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in web frontend development and engineering management. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager for Web Frontend Infrastructure at Slack since January 2024, Garry also operates as the Owner of Brave Little Spice Company since January 2022. Prior positions include Engineering Manager for the Alchemy Design System at Medallia and Director of Engineering at Loyal, where Garry significantly expanded the engineering team and contributed to the development of an internal design system. With a background as a Senior Front End Engineer and Front End Engineer, Garry also possesses experience in web development consulting and project leadership from earlier roles at Big Nerd Ranch and ING Investment Management, where contributions included enhancing complex financial systems and mobile application development. Garry holds a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University, complemented by studies at Armstrong State University.
