Steve Gill is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in software development and developer relations. At Slack since November 2019, Steve holds the position of Director of Engineering, Platform, previously serving as Senior DevRel Engineering Manager and DevRel Manager. Before joining Slack, Steve worked at Adobe from October 2011 to November 2019 as a Senior Computer Scientist in Adobe's Open Source Office and as a Computer Scientist focusing on Apache Cordova/PhoneGap. During this time, Steve also contributed as an Apache Committer and became a member of The Apache Software Foundation from March 2016 to November 2019. Earlier career experience includes a role as PhoneGap Champ at Nitobi from December 2009 to October 2011, where Steve engaged in developer relations. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University, earned between 2006 and 2012.
