Slateworks is an operating system for small and specialty trades.

Most small-trades contractors have no real way to understand their costs. On too many jobs, there's no way to know how the work actually performed until cost reconciliation is done — and by then it's far too late to do anything about it.

A lot of that comes down to how the software is built. Most construction management platforms started life as generic accounting systems with construction modules bolted on top. They assume a project-controls team driving them every day — which is exactly what a small tradesman doesn't have. He lives in his truck, runs a few employees, spends his day scaring up work and swinging a hammer, and does his bids and his books at the kitchen table on Sunday. The tools that might actually help him were never built with him in mind.

That gap didn't matter until recently. Now it's costing him. Private equity is moving into the small trades, arriving with capital, analytics, and sophisticated — often anticompetitive — pricing strategies, so one fund can promise the next "20% revenue increases YOY."

Slateworks exists to level that. We provide enterprise-grade project management and decision support, built from the trade up rather than the accounting system down — and put it in the hands of the operator who's spent all day banging nails and still has to price tomorrow's job before he sleeps. He deserves better weapons than the big players have.

We currently have a closed pilot running and are onboarding a small number of additional beta partners, ahead of a late-2026 / early-2027 launch.
