Slaturfelag Sudurlands svf (SS) is an Iceland-based producer co-operative, active within the food processing industry. It operates on the wholesale level, selling its own products and imported food products. The Company's business activities are organized into three divisions, namely Abattoir, Meat processing and Import. The Abattoir division is engaged in the operation of a slaughterhouse in Selfoss, in the southern part of Iceland, which has export licence for Japand and European Union (EU) countries. The Meat processing division is principally operational through a processing plant in Hvolsvollur, Iceland. The Company's product range in the meat processed products consists of about 150 products. The Import division is a distributor of such brands, as Yara As, Pedigree, Whiskas, Uncle Ben's, Mars and Barilla, among others. Additionally, the Company exports horsemeat and Icelandic lamb to EU countries.
