Manager, Business & Manufacturing Systems at SLD Laser

Douglas Sievers has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Douglas began their career at Touchdown Technologies as a Quality Engineer, where they implemented SPC software and Eyelit MES software for tracking work order progress. Douglas also designed and implemented a custom data warehouse system.

Douglas then worked at Solarmer Energy, Inc. as a Packaging Engineer, leading a team in improving solar cell lifetime and establishing standardized fabrication and test protocols. Douglas also created a test apparatus for accelerated lifetime testing.

After that, Douglas joined Advantest as a Sr. R&D Engineer, where they were responsible for the MEMS multi-layer ceramic (MLC) space transformer line. Douglas performed design, characterization, and reliability testing, and led product improvement efforts to reduce cost and cycle time.

Following that, they worked at Eyelit Inc. as an Application Consultant, contributing to the development of application software.

Currently, Douglas is working at KYOCERA SLD Laser as the Manager of Business & Manufacturing Systems. Douglas previously held the role of Lead Manufacturing Systems Architect.

Douglas Sievers holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Minnesota. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in various software-related courses, including "Client Needs and Software Requirements" from Coursera in December 2022, "Software Processes and Agile Practices" from Coursera in October 2022, and "Introduction to Software Product Management" from Coursera in June 2022.
