Eric Goutain

Eric Goutain has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles.

Starting in 1990, they worked as a Master and Ph.D. student at I.E.M.N., focusing on the study and development of laser diodes.

In 1993, Goutain joined Thomson-CSF/LCR as an engineer, where they were responsible for coordinating technical teams and overseeing the assembly of application demonstrators for various projects.

In 2000, they joined Modetek as an Assembly Group Manager, contributing to all aspects of the business, including planning, finance, marketing, and investor relations.

Goutain then joined Teemphotonics in 2003 as a Technical Expert.

In 2004, they became the Quality, Reliability, and Failure Analysis Group Manager at Intense Ltd, where they established and managed a new department, overseeing quality system management, yield improvement, and failure analysis.

At Intense, they later took on the role of Production & Development Assembly Manager, responsible for day-to-day production activities, new product development, and introduction and support.

In 2010, Goutain became the Engineering Development Group Manager at Intense, followed by Technical Director in 2011.

From 2011 to the present, they have been with KYOCERA SLD Laser, starting as the Product Engineering Director, leading the transfer of laser products from development to production. Eric then progressed to Senior Director of Product Development and currently holds the position of VP of Laser Product Development, where they drive execution, demonstrates initiative, and supports corporate goals.

Throughout their career, Goutain has demonstrated expertise in laser product development, engineering management, and quality assurance.

Eric Goutain began their education at St Joseph, where they studied Math Physiques and obtained their BAC degree in 1984. Eric then pursued further education at the Marketing Academy in London from 1984 to 1987, earning their DEUG degree in Physics. Eric's educational journey led him to Polytech'Lille, where they specialized in Materials Science and completed an Engineering degree from 1987 to 1990.
