Laura Castro has a diverse and extensive work experience. Laura began their career in 2009 as the Executive Manager at Instituto do Sono | AFIP, where they were responsible for a team of 130+ multiprofessionals, and in charge of sleep lab operations. In 2010, they became a Freelance Consultant at HUMINT Solutions. From 2014 to 2015, they were a Research Intern at Stanford University and a Sleep Psychologist at PsiSono. From 2016 to 2019, they were a Psychologist and Biostatistician at Escola Paulista de Medicina - UNIFESP and a Visiting Research Fellow at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Currently, they are a Co-Founder and CPO at Vigilantes do Sono.

Laura Castro has a diverse educational background. Laura obtained their Senior High School degree at Junius H Rose High School in 1999-2000 as an exchange student. Laura then attended UEL - Universidade Estadual de Londrina, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2001-2004 and a Specialization in Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in 2005-2007. Laura then attended Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo, where they earned a Master of Science in Sleep Medicine and Biology in 2009-2011 and is currently a PhD Candidate in Spirituality, Terminality, and Hospital Psychology, which they began in 2017. Additionally, they obtained a Sleep Psychologist certification from the Associação Brasileira do Sono in 2017.
