Jimmy O'Brien

Jimmy O'Brien has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jimmy began their career in 1998 as a C++ Programmer at Portable Software Solutions and later worked as a C++ and Visual Basic Programmer at Viasec in 2000. In the same year, they joined SoftCo as a Quality Assurance Engineer until 2004. In 2014, they served as the Information Technology Director at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2015. Jimmy O'Brien also has considerable experience with Sligo County Council, where they held various positions including Administrative Officer, Information Systems Project Leader, and Assistant/Head of Information Systems. Their current role is Head of Information Systems at Sligo County Council, starting in October 2022.

Jimmy O'Brien attended Munster Technological University from 1993 to 1998, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Application, specializing in Information Technology.
