Rieks Visser

Rieks Visser has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2003 as a self-employed IT consultant and full-stack software engineer. During this time, they worked on various projects related to software development, UX design, and online marketing, helping small businesses and organizations establish a professional online presence.

In 2005, Rieks worked as a web development intern at Renken Design, where they implemented features and contributed to a platform overhaul project.

From 2008 to 2012, they were a full-stack software engineer at Belsimpel.nl – MobielWerkt, playing a key role in the company's growth from a small start-up to a sizeable international player. Rieks primarily focused on front-end development.

From 2012 to 2013, Rieks served as the lead software engineer at Cleafs. Rieks'sresponsibilities included ensuring the availability of a webservice, managing the development of various products and features, and facilitating decision-making between the development team and stakeholders.

At MediaCT, Rieks held multiple roles from 2013 to 2020. Rieks initially served as a scrum master and agile coach, assisting the organization in improving its agility. Rieks also provided training in agile practices, developed CI/DevOps and data migration products, and contributed to translating the company's value into clear English and Dutch. Additionally, they worked as a product specialist, focusing on internal product development.

Since 2020, Rieks has held several roles at different companies. Rieks has been a senior scrum master and agile coach at Sentinels, where they helped teams apply Scrum and various agile approaches to build high-performing software. Rieks also worked as an agile coach and scrum master at Biller, coaching their newly formed team in Agile values and principles.

Currently, Rieks is employed as a product manager at Slimmer AI, where they work with new ventures in product strategy and delivery. Rieks also coaches founders in product-driven approaches and focuses on continuously improving the company's product delivery system. Additionally, they serve as a senior agile coach and scrum master, teaching, coaching, consulting, and facilitating Agile practices across the organization.

Rieks Visser completed their HAVO (secondary school diploma) from Wessel Gansfort College from 1998 to 2003. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in IT Communications & Computer Science from Hanzehogeschool Groningen / Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen between 2003 and 2008. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including PSM II from Scrum.org in May 2018, PSM I - Professional Scrum Master from Scrum.org in July 2016, and Magento Certified Developer from Magento in October 2014.
