Martina de Geus has diverse work experience in the field of biosciences. In their most recent role at Slingshot Biosciences, they serve as a Scientist I & Product Manager. Prior to this, Martina worked at Verily Life Sciences as an Associate Scientist, where they contributed to the development of a droplet-based microfluidic cell sorter and a Virtual Stainer platform for tissue imaging and histological staining prediction. Martina gained project management experience as a Project Management Intern at Roche. During their time at ETH Zurich, they conducted research as a Masters Student Researcher, focusing on the development of a microfluidic platform for prodrug screening. Martina also worked as a Technical Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed an internship at Merrimack, where they studied cancer cell signaling pathways and drug resistance mechanisms. Martina gained further research experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT and as a Student Researcher at the University of Basel, investigating mitotic regulatory systems and chromosomal mutations. Additionally, Martina completed an internship at the Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Martina de Geus pursued their undergraduate education from 2010 to 2014 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biological Engineering, with a minor in Applied International Studies. Following their undergraduate studies, they moved on to further their education at ETH Zürich from 2015 to 2017. At ETH Zürich, Martina de Geus completed a Master's degree in Biotechnology.
