Eric Riveland

Eric Riveland is an experienced drilling and production engineer with a comprehensive background in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as Sr. Drilling Engineer at SM Energy Company since June 2016. In this role, Riveland has taken on responsibilities including overseeing day-to-day rig operations, collaborating on well planning and hazard analysis, and engaging in drilling optimization projects. Previous positions within SM Energy include Drilling Engineering Supervisor, Senior Drilling Engineer, and Production Engineer, where Riveland focused on enhancing gas lift operations and optimizing well designs. Earlier career experiences include internships at SM Energy and Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where foundational skills in production engineering and completions engineering were developed. Riveland holds a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech of the University of Montana, completed in 2016.
