Senior Game Developer at Small Giant Games

Patai Gergely has extensive experience in the game development industry. 🚭 started their career at Small Giant Games in 2014 as a Senior Game Developer and is currently still in that role. Prior to that, they worked at Sulake from 2011 to 2014, initially as a Software Developer and later as a Senior Software Developer. At Sulake, they were involved in developing new features for the game Habbo, primarily on the client side using AS3. 🚭 also contributed to a Unity project, focusing on client architecture, tools, networking layer, and shaders. In addition, they participated in the recruitment process and conducted interviews at Sulake.

Before joining Sulake, Patai Gergely took a sabbatical and did contract work, continuing their research in functional programming independently. 🚭 was also involved in a university project that aimed to compile pure functional programs into interesting targets.

Prior to their sabbatical, Patai Gergely worked as a Research Engineer at the Biomedical Engineering Knowledge Centre at Budapest University of Technology and Economics from 2009 to 2011. In this role, they researched the applicability of functional programming in embedded and interactive systems and taught functional and logic programming while supervising student projects. 🚭 also participated in various projects related to Ambient Assisted Living (AAL).

Patai Gergely started their professional journey as a Research Assistant at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2006, where they worked until 2009.

Overall, Patai Gergely has a diverse background in game development and research, with a focus on functional programming and client-side development.

🚭 Patai Gergely completed their International Baccalaureate in maths and physics at Karinthy Frigyes Gimnázium from 1996 to 2001. 🚭 then pursued their MSc and PhD studies in CS & IT at Budapest University of Technology and Economics from 2001 to 2009.
