Rod Bastanmehr has a diverse range of work experience in the media industry. Rod began their career as an Editorial Assistant at San Francisco Magazine in 2010. Following this, they worked as a Managing Editor at City On A Hill Press from 2010 to 2011. Rod then transitioned to a role as an Assistant Editor at Metro Silicon Valley from 2011 to 2012.

In 2012, Rod joined Boulevards New Media Inc. as a Staff Copywriter, where they worked until 2014. During this time, they also took on the role of a Staff Copywriter at iCopywriter from 2013 to 2014.

Rod then worked as a Contributing Writer at Not Coming to a Theatre Near You from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they started working at AlterNet as a Morning Politics and Culture Writer until 2014.

In 2014, Rod began working as a Senior Copywriter at The Untitled Magazine. Rod started as an Editorial Intern in 2012 and progressed to become a Contributing Writer. Rod continued to contribute to the magazine and took on additional responsibilities such as conducting interviews and assisting in copyediting.

Most recently, Rod worked as a Contributing Writer at Small Girls PR from 2018 onwards. Rod held the title of Senior Operations Associate and provided their services on a freelance basis.

Throughout their career, Rod has showcased their strong writing skills and versatility in various roles within the media industry.

Rod Bastanmehr earned their Bachelor's Degree in Film Theory and Cultural Criticism from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Rod attended the university from 2007 to 2011.
