Louisa Liu

Louisa Liu has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Louisa started their career as a Development Intern at idfive in 2016, where they learned various programming languages and assisted with front-end development. Louisa then worked as a Designer at idfive from 2017 to 2018, executing web design, motion graphics, print design, and collaborating with different teams.

In 2015, they served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Maryland Institute College of Art, leading discussion groups on the history of graphic design and running independent critiques.

From 2018 to 2019, Louisa worked as a Senior Designer, Digital at Allbirds, where they created and maintained a digital pattern library and led a team of designers in creating digital assets for an ecommerce site.

Louisa joined IDEO in 2019 and held two roles there. Louisa first worked as an Interaction & Communication Designer, partnering with marketing and development teams to design new features for IDEO.com. Louisa also managed and led UX/UI design for an internal web resource. Later, from 2021 to 2022, they became a Senior Interaction & Communication Designer at IDEO, overseeing a project to modernize legacy design assets and prioritize accessibility.

Currently, Louisa is working as a Product Designer at Smalls, starting in 2022.

Louisa Liu earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology & Philosophy from Boston University from 2009 to 2012. Later, they pursued further education at the Maryland Institute College of Art, where they completed their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Graphic Design from 2015 to 2017.
