Alex OpBroek, CPA has a diverse work experience that spans across various roles and companies. They started their career at Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative, where they gained experience in risk management and developed their business-professional etiquette. They then moved on to George Fox University, where they served as ASC Treasurer, responsible for managing and supervising the university's budget and overseeing the internal controls of a coffee shop. At Deloitte, Alex worked as an Audit Senior, serving clients in the greater Portland area and strengthening their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and documentation. They later joined Smarsh as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, and eventually became the Corporate Controller, overseeing the company's financial operations during a period of significant growth. Currently, they hold the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer at Smarsh before assuming the position of VP, Global Corporate Controller. Additionally, Alex also served as a Committee Member for the Laws & Rules Committee at the Oregon Board of Accountancy in 2019.
Alex OpBroek, CPA completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from George Fox University from 2008 to 2012. In 2014, Alex obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the State of Oregon: Board of Accountancy. Additionally, in 2021, Alex completed the K1 Advanced Management Program offered by K1 Investment Management.
