Phillip Michalak

Phillip Michalak is a seasoned software engineer specializing in machine learning, currently serving as Principal Machine Learning Software Engineer II at Smarsh since December 2021. Previously, Phillip held various leadership roles at Digital Reasoning from January 2011 to December 2021, including Senior Principal Software Engineer, Senior Director of Engineering, and Director of Research. Phillip's career began as an AI Software Engineer at Stottler Henke from 1998 to 2003, followed by academic research as a graduate student at the University of Rochester from 2003 to 2010. Phillip holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, earned between 1994 and 1998.
