An enthusiast of the most complex mechanical inventions, Neil advises Canadian and international clients on the prosecution of patent and industrial design applications before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office.

Neil has close to 30 years of experience offering strategic patent and industrial design counsel and support to innovative clients in the mechanical field. His broad experience includes managing the filing and prosecution of patent and industrial design applications in the United States, Europe and around the world. Neil regularly conducts patentability searches, drafts and prosecutes patent and industrial design applications, and provides infringement and validity opinions. He also prepares and files Patent Cooperation Treaty applications.

Adept at understanding a diverse range of mechanical innovations, Neil is experienced in managing patents for log handling and processing equipment, residential heating and fireplace systems, medical equipment, automotive systems, agricultural equipment, waste water treatment equipment and systems and paper making control and measurement systems.

Neil has managed prosecution issues for clients ranging from individual inventors and small start-ups to large, established corporations in both Canada and internationally.
