Randy Shaw MHS, LRT/CTRS is a seasoned Recreation Therapist with extensive experience in planning and implementing recreation therapy interventions for veterans and individuals with various disabilities. Currently serving at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since January 2015, Randy operates on the Long Term/Hospice Care and Rehabilitation Units while also leading a Recreation Therapy Internship Program in partnership with Western Carolina University and the University of North Carolina Greensboro. As an instructor and sponsorship coordinator for SMART CEUs Hub, Randy contributes to the professional development of Recreation Therapists through online courses and scholarship funding. Previous roles include serving as an adjunct faculty member at Western Carolina University, Director of the Recreation Therapy Program at the City of Asheville Parks & Recreation, and various positions focused on therapeutic recreation and community development. Randy holds a Master of Health Science in Health Care Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Western Carolina University.
