Andrew Bowen, MBA has a wealth of experience in the corporate world. Andrew began their career in 2001 as a Manager/Senior Analyst in Banking Operations and Treasury Manager in Financial Markets at the Bank of Canada. During their time there, they provided cash flow forecasting and financing for over one billion dollars, and designed and implemented new policies, programs, and services that enhanced quality management and continuous improvement.

In 2008, Andrew moved to ICBC where they were a Business Initiative Advisor and Manager of Personal Product Design. During their time there, they provided the voice of the customer while optimizing the rating system, created the pricing model for insurance companies, and met with clients to test concepts city by city.

In 2012, Andrew founded Urkai Inc. where they developed and delivered the industry's best high-tech cargo bikes. Andrew built the initial customer base in Quebec and expanded it to all of North America, and generated a 65.5% increase in revenue for 6 consecutive years.

In 2019, Andrew joined BDC as a Senior Business Advisor. During their time there, they developed strategic growth plans and go-to-market strategies for high-growth firms with $10M to $100M in revenue. Andrew also discovered multi-million-dollar strategic growth opportunities by conducting external market analysis, which includes market sizing, industry trends, and competitive dynamics. Andrew also led the development and go-to-market strategy for BDC Financing in Ontario.

Currently, Andrew is the Chief Executive Officer at SmartCocoon, a position they have held since 2022.

Andrew Bowen, MBA has a comprehensive educational background. Andrew obtained their MBA in Management, Strategy, and Finance from Queen's University. Andrew also holds a B.Comm in Finance from the University of Ottawa, a Diploma in Business Administration and Management, General from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, and a Bachelor of Commerce - BCom in Finance and Financial Management Services from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Accelerated Implementation Methodology Guide to Change Project Management from Implementation Management Associates (IMA), Art of Facilitation, Strategies, and Skills of Successful Negotiation from The University of British Columbia, Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute, Leadership Excellence Program, Process Improvement Tools, Operational Process Mapping, Measuring Customer/Stakeholder Satisfaction, Operational Root Cause Analysis from Excellence Canada, and Pursuing Certified Business Architect from the Business Architecture Guild.
