Niall Munro

Niall Munro has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Niall is currently working as a Software Engineering Manager at Smart Data Foundry since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked at People's Postcode Lottery from 2016 to 2023, serving as a Java Team Lead and Software Developer. Niall's experience also includes working at EDINA from 2009 to 2016, where they held positions as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer. At EDINA, they were responsible for the development and maintenance of software components and systems, managing operations of national services, and analyzing emerging technologies and standards. Before that, Niall worked as an Assistant Software Engineer at Generation Scotland from 2008 to 2009, where they contributed to the implementation of the Multi-Institutional Linkage and Anonymisation system. Niall'searly work experience includes a role as a Software Engineer at the Medical Research Council in 2007, where they developed an internal tool for economic costings.

Niall Munro completed their Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Internet Computing at Edinburgh Napier University from 2004 to 2007. Niall then pursued a PGDip in Advanced Software Engineering, specializing in Internet Computing, at the same institution from 2007 to 2008. In terms of additional certifications, Niall obtained the ITIL® Intermediate certificate in IT Continual Service Improvement from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, in October 2014. Niall also obtained the ITIL® Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from the same institution in June 2014. Furthermore, Niall achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification from Amazon in February 2018.
