Marina Cavazzana

Co-Founder and Acting CMO at Smart Immune

Marina Cavazzana has been working in the biotherapies field since 2003. Marina started as the Head of the Department of Biotherapy at Hôpital Necker-Enfants Malades in 2003. In 2014, they moved to Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases as the Head of Resarch Laboratory of Human lympho-hematopoiesis U1163. Since 2017, they have been working as the Co-Founder and Acting CMO at Smart Immune, hematopoietic stem cell-based biotherapies.

Marina Cavazzana obtained their Doctor of Medicine - MD from the Università degli Studi di Padova in 1987. Marina then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Human Biology / Experimental Oncology from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) in 1987. In the same year, they also obtained a Certification in Clinical Oncology from Université Paris Cité. In 1984, they earned a Master's degree in Human Biology / Haematology from Université Paris Cité. In 1988, they achieved a Postgraduate Degree - DEA in Immunobiotechnologies, Immunogenetics & Blood Transfusion from Université Paris Cité. In 1993, they earned their Doctorate of Science - PhD from Université Paris Cité. Lastly, they are currently pursuing a Professor - PUPH in Haematology from Université Paris Cité.
