Dr. Yousuf Hamed Al Balushi

Dr. Yousuf Al Balushi is an accomplished economist and entrepreneur with extensive experience in investment and economic development in Oman. As the Founder and Managing Director of Smart Investment Gateway since October 2019, Dr. Al Balushi provides specialized consulting services to both public and private sector clients, leveraging expertise as a Subject Matter Expert authorized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion. Previously, Dr. Al Balushi served as the Chief Economist for the Oman 2040 Vision Office from November 2015 to October 2019, where leadership involved examining business opportunities to inform a macro-economic framework for the nation's future. Prior experience includes project management at the Supreme Council for Planning focused on foreign investment surveys and analysis for the Central Bank of Oman. Dr. Al Balushi holds a PhD candidate status from King's College London, along with a Master's degree in Economic Management & Policy from the University of Strathclyde and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Cairo University.
