Caroline Poyser is an experienced software engineer and analyst currently working at SMT since October 2018, focusing on software development for gearbox simulation and analysis, as well as contributing to CAE consultancy projects aimed at enhancing gearbox designs. Prior to this, Caroline held positions at the University of Nottingham from September 2011 to October 2018, including research physicist, where the work centered on acoustoelectric methods for THz radiation, and as a PhD researcher studying the properties of semiconductor structures. Caroline also has experience as a laboratory demonstrator, enhancing communication skills through teaching and assessment, and completed a voluntary internship at the Institute of Food Research, where skills in C programming and mathematics were developed. Caroline's academic background includes a PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from the University of Nottingham and an MPhys in Physics from the University of Warwick.
