Alex Ummelen has worked as a Software Developer at Smart Robotics since April 2020. Before that, they had various roles at University Racing Eindhoven, starting in September 2016. In the driverless department of the university racing team, they developed a path planning and motion planning algorithm for their first autonomous race car. Alex also worked on the vehicle control model and later transitioned to an advisory role within the autonomous systems department. Additionally, they were a Control Engineer at University Racing Eindhoven from September 2016 to September 2017, where they designed a controller for a motor test bench and implemented a wheel speed controller for the racecar's traction control system. Prior to that, they worked as an Examentrainer at Inwijs from February 2016 to 2018.
Alex Ummelen has a strong educational background in mechanical engineering. From 2016 to 2019, they pursued a Master's degree in mechanical engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering at the same university from 2013 to 2016.
