James M. Benham

James M. Benham has a diverse work experience, starting in 2001 when they co-founded JBKnowledge, where they currently serve as the CEO. In 2019, they co-founded Terra, a company focused on simplifying insurance management operations. James also co-founded SmartCompliance in 2010, a software company that offers certificate of insurance tracking and compliance management solutions.

Aside from their entrepreneurial ventures, Benham has also held various roles in the public sector. James served as a Regent on the Texas Southern University Board of Regents, starting from October 2020. James was also an Adjunct Professor at Texas A&M University from 2015 to 2020.

James'sinvolvement in the City of College Station includes serving as a City Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem from 2012 to 2018, as well as being a Planning & Zoning Commissioner from 2011 to 2012.

Furthermore, Benham was a Board Member for the TEXAS AGGIE CORPS OF CADETS ASSOCIATION from 2005 to 2007.

Throughout their career, Benham has demonstrated their leadership capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit, contributing to the growth and success of various companies and organizations.

James M. Benham pursued their education at Texas A&M University. From 1997 to 2001, they studied at the university and obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Accounting. Following this, they continued their education at Texas A&M University from 2001 to 2002, where they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems. James also holds multiple certifications in aviation. James obtained their Private Aircraft Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in April 2018, followed by an Instrument Pilot certification in December 2018. In November 2020, they obtained the Commercial Single and Multi Land Pilot certification, and most recently, in January 2022, they achieved the Commercial Seaplane Pilot certification, all also issued by the FAA.
