Steven McWhinney

Steven McWhinney is a Mechatronics Engineer with extensive experience in product design and engineering. Currently employed at Smarter Alloys since September 2017, Steven focuses on developing devices using Shape Memory Alloys. Previous roles include a Product Development Intern at Inertia, where Steven designed drywall tools and conducted Finite Element Analysis, and an iPad Product Design Engineer at Apple, contributing to the development of new iPad technologies and components. Earlier experience includes mechanical design internships at Athos and Colortech Inc., and an Engineering Co-op position at Linamar, where Steven managed metrology methods and designed manufacturing processes. Steven holds an Honors Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo, completed in 2017.
