Xueying Catherine Francis is the Director of Psychometrics and Research at Smarter Balanced, with a robust background in psychometrics and data analytics cultivated over several years in educational assessment. Prior to this role, Xueying served as Senior Manager of Psychometrics, Research and Data Analytics at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, leading a team of six psychometricians and overseeing the development of various assessments. Xueying's experience includes significant positions at Pearson, the Texas Education Agency, and ACT, focusing on psychometric analysis, assessment design, and large-scale data handling. Xueying holds a PhD in Educational Psychology and a Master of Science in Research, Measurement, and Statistics from Texas A&M University.
