Chris Ripley has a diverse range of work experience. In 2001, they worked at CBR Development as an executive specializing in building sales models and teams. From 2012 to 2014, they were the Chief Revenue Officer at Pro Guide Direct, where they played a key role in concept development and technology implementation for a buying guide platform. In 2002, they founded and managed CBR LLC, overseeing three divisions and a large number of employees. Chris also founded Smarter Sealants in 2009. Additionally, they founded Sold - Smart Permanent Coating Systems in 2006 and served as the Chief Innovation Officer until the business was sold. From 2015 to 2022, they were the Founder and CEO of Smarter Sorting, a machine learning platform for store level decision making. In 2018, they became a Board Member at the National Stewardship Action Council. In 2019, they joined Unreasonable as an Unreasonable Fellow, supporting entrepreneurs working towards social and environmental change. Chris became a Member of Abundance 360 in 2020. Lastly, in 2023, they became the Executive Director of Pumpjack Dataworks, which focuses on creating a data exchange platform for the Sports & Entertainment industries.

Chris Ripley attended The Salisbury School from 1994 to 1997 where they obtained their high school diploma and an EMT certification. In 1997, they enrolled at Williams College and completed their undergraduate education in 2001, earning a degree in Economics and Psychology with a field of study in Quantitative Economics and Psychology: Decision Making. Additionally, in March 1999, they obtained a Private Pilot certification from the FAA. Chris Ripley also holds additional certifications as an Advanced Scuba Diver and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), although the institutions and specific dates for these certifications are not provided.
