Gilberto Loureiro has a diverse work experience that spans different industries. Gilberto started their career as a Textile Factory Operator at Celos Tecelagem - Knitting from June 2009 to September 2012. Concurrently, they worked as a Baker at Padaria Martins - Bakery from January 2010 to August 2012. In 2016, they joined CeNTI - Centre for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials as a Consultant & Researcher, specializing in smart textiles. Gilberto was responsible for the development and production of smart textiles and also handled applications for innovative textile-related projects. From December 2017 to February 2019, they worked as an Expansion Manager at Elsterfeld S.A., where they analyzed and executed the global expansion strategy in Europe. Gilberto then founded Smartex in August 2018, where they served as the CEO & Co-Founder. Smartex focuses on developing and commercializing vision systems for the textile industry. The company has attracted multiple investment rounds since 2019 and has been experiencing exponential growth.

Gilberto Loureiro completed their Master's Degree in Physics Engineering / Applied Physics from Universidade do Porto from 2012 to 2017. In addition, they pursued a minor in Finance from FEP U.
