Veselin Kolev

Veselin Kolev has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Veselin is currently serving as the Director of Information and Communications Technology at Smart IT - Smart Innovative Technologies since March 2023.

Before that, Veselin worked at ISI Emerging Markets Group, where they held various roles over a span of several years. Veselin started as a System Administrator in November 2006, providing IT infrastructure and support for the Bulgaria branch, as well as technical support for customers and development of in-house products. In April 2012, they became a Senior Systems Engineer, taking a leading role in the centralization of the Active Directory project and initiating the organization of global IT support. In October 2012, Veselin was promoted to IT Services Manager, responsible for managing IT services within the company.

In February 2022, Veselin took on the role of Global Head of IT Services & Security at ISI Emerging Markets Group. In this position, they managed the CloudOps & Security Engineering and Operations & Support teams, overseeing the IT budget, cloud and hosted infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Hosting), vendor relations, security, and auditing. Veselin held this role until their departure from the company in March 2023.

Veselin Kolev began their education in 1999 at the University of Economics - Varna, where they earned their Bachelor's degree in Information Technology in 2004. Veselin then pursued further education at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski in 2006, completing a Master's degree in Information Resources Management by 2007. Following this, Veselin Kolev enrolled in St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo in 2006, where they obtained a second Master's degree in Management in 2008.
