Steve Denbaars

Steve Denbaars is an accomplished academic and industry leader with significant contributions in engineering and materials science. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors for Aeluma, SmartKem, Inc., and Akoustis, Inc. (AKTS), Steve also holds the position of Co-Director at the Solid State Lighting & Energy Electronics Center within the Office of Research at the University of California Santa Barbara. As a Professor at UCSB, Steve has a strong academic foundation, holding both a PhD in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Materials Science, both from the University of Southern California, where studies were completed between 1984 and 1988.
