Smartodds
Gavin Whitaker is a quantitative analyst at Smartodds since May 2021, with prior experience as a data scientist at BDO UK LLP from November 2018 to May 2021. Gavin has also held roles as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) associate at both UCL and Stratagem Technologies between November 2016 and October 2018, and worked as a research associate at Newcastle University from April 2016 to July 2016 on a project with PragmatIC. Earlier, Gavin served as a postdoctoral researcher at Newcastle University from July 2014 to May 2015 on the Customer-Led Network Revolution (CLNR) project. Educationally, Gavin earned a PhD in Statistics from Newcastle University, where a master's degree in Mathematics and Statistics was also obtained.
Smartodds
Smartodds is a company based in North London which provides statistical research and consulting services about sports. Our team of quantitative analysts develop and implement predictive statistical models for sporting events (primarily football), and we combine the results of this research with reports produced by our team of sports analysts who provide in depth analysis of past and future matches. The data produced by this research is presented to our clients in software and web pages specifically customised for them by our software development team. Our clients then use this information to help make decisions about bets on sporting events.
