John L.

John L. has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. John currently serves as the Director of Software Engineering at SmartSense by Digi since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Sayer Capital LP from August 2018 to June 2021, where they held the position of Senior Vice President and Principal Software Engineer. At Sayer Capital LP, they were responsible for the development of C#, ASP.NET Web API microservices hosted on AWS EC2, and also designed and developed a financial security trade placement service.

Before joining Sayer Capital LP, John held various roles at Imprivata from April 2018 to August 2018, including Director of Engineering, Identity Governance and SSO, and Vice President and General Manager of Caradigm Identity and Access Management. At Caradigm, they led the Identity and Access Management team and played a pivotal role in customer-focused team collaboration.

John also has experience working at Microsoft as a Senior Development Lead from July 2010 to June 2012. Prior to that, they worked at Sentillion as a Senior Development Lead from October 2006 to July 2010. John has also served in various technical roles at Tenebril, Zix Corporation, AdvancePCS/Caremark, and Recursion Software.

John L. attended Wright State University from 1987 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. In 1996, they enrolled at Brandeis University and studied Computer Science until 1998, although they did not obtain a specific degree during this time. In 1994 and 1995, John L. attended The Ohio State University, focusing on Linguistics, but did not earn a degree. Additionally, from 1990 to 1992, they studied Japanese Language at Sinclair Community College, but they did not graduate with a degree in this field either.
