Peter Dodd

Peter Dodd is a seasoned firmware and embedded systems engineer with extensive experience in the development and architecture of firmware and hardware solutions. Currently serving as Senior Principal Firmware Engineer at SmartSense by Digi since June 2021, and previously as Principal Firmware Engineer at Powerhouse Dynamics since July 2012, Peter has honed expertise in firmware architecture, communication protocols, and third-party integration. With a solid foundation in embedded software development from prior roles at Kidde-Fenwal and Kidde Fire Protection, Peter's career began as a Development Engineer at Tynetec Ltd and Electric Vehicle Systems Ltd, focusing on designing and supporting a variety of embedded products. Peter holds a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications & Electronic Engineering from Northumbria University and an HNC in Communications & Electronic Engineering from South Tyneside Technical College.
