Trevor Sweeney has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries and roles. Trevor began their career in 2002 as a Financial Analyst and Project Manager at GE Capital. Following this, they worked at EBS Building Society from 2003 to 2008, starting as a Financial Analyst and eventually becoming a Finance Manager.
Trevor then joined O2 Ireland in 2008 as a Financial Reporting Team Lead, before moving to NewBay Software in 2010 as a Group Financial Controller. In 2012, they transitioned to j2 Global where they served as the European Financial Controller until 2015.
From 2015 to 2020, Trevor worked at Digicel Group, where they held various roles including Group Finance Manager, Digicel Financial Controller, and Head of Finance. During their tenure, they had multiple achievements such as coaching and mentoring an Accounts Assistant to become a Finance Manager and delivering significant marketing savings.
In 2021, Trevor joined ALONE as the Head of Finance, Legal & Governance, and later in 2022, they took on the role of Chief Financial Officer at SmartSimple Software.
Throughout their career, Trevor has demonstrated a strong financial acumen, leadership abilities, and the skills to manage teams, develop financial controls and procedures, and provide comprehensive financial reporting.
Trevor Sweeney's education history includes a range of academic pursuits. Trevor began in 1990 by attending the Institute of Technology, Sligo, where they obtained a Professional Qualification in Accountancy. Trevor then pursued further education at Dublin Business School in 1997, focusing on CIMA Professional Accounting in their final year. Following this, they enrolled at Dublin City University from 1999 to 2001 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in IT Management for Accountants. Lastly, Trevor attended University College Dublin from 2004 to 2006, where they earned an EMBA degree in Business.
