Cole Seaton has extensive work experience in various roles within the outdoor sports industry. Cole started their career in 2009 as an Intramural Sports Supervisor at the Marshall University Recreational Center, where they officiated sporting events and maintained standards of play. In 2013, they worked as a Climbing Instructor and Outdoor Pursuits Trip Leader at CENTERS, LLC, demonstrating high levels of professional competence and developing personalized curricula for clients.
Cole then worked as a City Parks Worker for the City of Steamboat Springs in 2015, where they were responsible for cleaning and maintaining trails and parks, as well as preparing facilities for sporting events. Cole also managed equipment and tools.
In 2015, Cole became the Retail Manager at The Front Climbing Club, where they assisted in creating and implementing a standardized retail strategy and trained new hires. Cole also managed product inventory and reported retail sales figures for data analysis.
Cole transitioned to the outdoor retail industry in 2017, working as a Technical Sales Representative for both Five Ten® and E9 Clothing. In these roles, they utilized their knowledge of technical gear to deliver sales support and provide product expertise to customers.
From 2017 to 2019, Cole served as an Assistant Buyer - Hardgoods at Backcountry.com, where they coordinated office management, communicated with vendors, and tracked purchase orders and inventory status.
Most recently, since 2019, Cole has been a Customer Service Sales Representative for the Sport Division at Petzl America. In this role, they managed the Western Territories for both the Sport Division and Lighting, handling customer service and sales responsibilities.
In 2021, Cole joined Smartwaiver as a Sales Representative, where they are currently employed.
Cole Seaton earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Marshall University, graduating in 2015. During the same period, Cole also obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, General from Marshall University. In terms of additional certifications, Cole obtained a Climbing Wall Instructor certification from the Climbing Wall Association, Inc. in October 2015. In September 2016, Cole completed Work at Heights Training from the same institution. Furthermore, Cole obtained a Level I: Rope Access Technician certification from the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) in October 2020. Lastly, Cole obtained CPR and First Aid certification in August 2007, although the institution is unknown.
